hurricane sandy until next month's jobs report and stocks did rally yesterday, so the hope is that the economy is slowly but surely getting better. the dow jumped about 136 points yesterday to 13,232. the nasdaq was up by 42 points and in fact november is historically the best month for the markets during a presidential election year for the dow jones. as for apple's innovation, it is the ipad mini and it hits stores in two dozen countries today. apple sold out preorders for the device last weekend, but already stores in parts of asia have seen some lines. but this time around those lines are smaller. in fact several apple stores in new york city are going to be closed today for obvious reasons and the power outages from hurricane sandy could stop them from opening for another couple of days. we'll have to wait and see. microsoft is reportedly working with its asian suppliers to test its own smartphone design but it is unclear if the device will go into mass production. elsewhere, reports say that the phone's screen is between 4 and 5 inches. the iphone 5 has a 4 inch screen while the samsung
